This post will be under the direct supervision of Dr Sarah Bath, Associate Professor in Public Health Nutrition within the Discipline of Nutrition, Exercise, Chronobiology and Sleep, in the School of Biosciences.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the project</strong></p><p>The post is part of the project EUthyroid 2: The next step towards the elimination of iodine deficiency and preventable iodine-related disorders in Europe. &nbsp;The post is co-funded through a grant from European Commission Horizon Europe (HORIZON-HLTH-2022-DISEASE-07) and United Kingdom Research and Innovation (UKRI). EUthyroid2 is a multi-country project (2023-2027), and the UK is one of the intervention sites for both adolescents and young women (along with Queen&rsquo;s University Belfast).</p><p>The recruitment of subjects is complete and therefore this post will be to facilitate the data analysis and publications based on the EUthyroid2 data. The post will involve processing dietary data and other outcome data (from questionnaires) from the UK participants, as well as contributing to data analysis and manuscript preparation (see job profile for details). The post holder will work closely with the research team, including the post-doctoral research fellow based at the University of Surrey.</p><p><strong>About the applicant</strong></p><p>The applicant should have a degree (BSc or MSc) in nutrition in nutrition, dietetics, public health, epidemiology, or a related discipline. The applicant should have experience in handling, managing and processing research data, and with statistical analysis using statistical software (e.g. SPSS). They should have experience and knowledge of dietary assessment (including food frequency questionnaires). Good communication skills and scientific writing skills are also important. The post holder will need to be able to work within a team, as well as independently and they should be highly motivated. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>About the research group and the University</strong></p><p>The successful applicant will be part of the Iodine Research Group, led by Dr Sarah Bath. Our group examines the effects of iodine deficiency during pregnancy and the dietary sources of iodine.           <title><![CDATA[Research Fellow A on the Nurse Suicide Study (021926)]]></title>

This ground-breaking and transformative project seeks to revision the ways in which nurse distress and suicidality are articulated and understood. &nbsp;</p><p>The project encompasses five individual studies looking at different elements of this topic. For more information about this project and team, visit our <a href="https://www.nursesuicidestudy.com/">website</a></p><p>You&rsquo;ll be working on study 5, which aims to understand how the experience of a workplace complaint or investigation impacts on the distress and suicidality of women registered nurses. The study will use a mixed methods approach including an on-line survey and narrative interviews. The successful candidate will spend around half of their time working with the wider team in AWE&#39;s Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Materials Ageing, Performance and Lifetime Prediction. This will include working collaboratively with our six visiting researchers, around 15 Surrey academics and researchers across Engineering and Chemistry, doctoral researchers, and technical staff across the University. You will also join the steering group for the CoE. The role also enables the successful applicant to spend up to half of their time developing their own materials ageing research with a healthy consumables and travel budget to support this. In addition to carrying out research their is an expectation of leadership in terms of supporting the CoE community in research excellence, impact and external academic and industrial engagement.</p><p>This fellowship will suit a researcher whose education and experience is in materials physics, chemistry, or engineering, but whose can work in a multidisciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working hands‑on with materials and abstracting analysing physical and chemical behaviour for solving materials problems and modelling. It is home to over 200 researchers with expertise in all communication and broadcasting systems and has developed the best-in-class large scale testbeds for research and innovation and enjoys the state-of-the-art lab and computing facilities.</p><p>Established in 2012, 5GIC is the world&rsquo;s first dedicated centre in researching end-to-end aspects of 5G and works closely with national and international leading academic institutes and key industrial partners. In November 2020, 6GIC was officially launched with parallel research undertaken in both 5G+ and 6G for 2030+.</p><h3>About you</h3><p>Applicants should have a good honors PhD degree in wireless communications or AI and computer vision fields and a strong track record of publications. Preference will be given to those with prior publications either in top-tier AI and Computer Vision venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, CVPR, etc.), or prestigious IEEE journals (e.g. IEEE JSAC, ComST, etc.). Applicants are expected to have good problem solving and analytical skills, to be proactive, to engage with other researchers and to be self-motivated. The successful candidate will, in collaboration with other researchers, specify, design and implement the systems under investigation.
