Depending on your expertise and project priorities, the research may include electromagnetic ISAC channel modelling, waveform and transceiver design, sensing signal processing, AI/ML-enabled radio interfaces, MIMO beamforming and channel estimation, interference management, environment reconstruction, target imaging, or radio-resource management.</p><p>This is a industry-facing role combining advanced technical research, simulation development, pre-standardisation, intellectual-property generation and formal project delivery. The successful candidate will work closely with researchers at Surrey and InterDigital and will help develop research findings into practical evaluation tools, technical reports, standards contributions and scientific publications in top-tier journals.&nbsp;Part of the appointment will be conducted at InterDigital&#39;s London office, with regular in-person technical engagement with the IDE team. The candidate must therefore be willing and able to work across the University of Surrey and InterDigital locations as required by the project.</p><p>ICS is the largest academic research institute in Europe specialising in all aspects of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies). It is home to over 200 researchers with expertise in all communication and broadcasting systems and has developed the best-in-class large scale testbeds for research and innovation and enjoys the state-of-the-art lab and computing facilities.<br id="isPasted"><br>Established in 2012, 5GIC is the world&rsquo;s first dedicated centre in researching end-to-end aspects of 5G and works closely with national and international leading academic institutes and key industrial partners. First, we will develop a formally verified reference monitor on top of seL4 for the secure containment of AI agents, including mechanisms for dynamically controlling agents&rsquo; capabilities and information flows. Second, we will investigate the use of modern AI techniques to accelerate large-scale formal verification, including AI proof agents for maintaining, extending and refactoring the seL4 Isabelle/HOL proof base.</p><p>The Surrey positions are full-time fixed-term until November 2027. We have substantial funding for access to state-of-the-art AI models and computing infrastructure.</p><h3>About you</h3><p>We are interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of interactive theorem proving, formal verification, information-flow security, seL4, neurosymbolic AI, and AI-assisted reasoning. Candidates do not need to cover all these areas: the researchers can focus on different parts of the project according to their expertise.</p><p>Particular preference will be given to candidates with strong Isabelle/HOL expertise (or substantial experience with related interactive theorem provers), and to candidates who are available to start as soon as possible. We would also be very interested in hearing from excellent Isabelle researchers who may be at an earlier career stage than would normally be expected for a Senior Researcher position.</p><p>There will also be closely related positions at our partner institutions.           <title><![CDATA[Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Content Provenance (041526)]]></title>

            <p id="isPasted">We are recruiting for a Research Fellow in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Content Provenance to develop new AI-based technologies for rights, attribution and licensing in live music and digital media.</p><p>You will join the UKRI/AHRC-funded BRAID P3R project, working within the CoSTAR National Lab as part of a collaboration between the University of Surrey and Royal Holloway, University of London. The project will develop new technical approaches that enable performers, creators and rights holders to express and protect rights over their work and likeness as live performances are captured, transformed and distributed across digital platforms.</p><p>The research will build on Surrey&rsquo;s world-leading work in content authenticity and media provenance. You will develop new Computer Vision, AI and multimedia technologies for identifying and representing rights associated with performers and creative works across images, video and audio. A particular focus will be the development of provenance-based licensing infrastructure that can associate rights and permissions with media and with the performers represented within it. This will include exploring techniques for determining the presence and likeness of performers within visual media, for example using biometric and privacy-preserving representations, and connecting these signals to provenance and licensing information using standards such as C2PA (Content Credentials).</p><p>A further strand of the project will explore audio watermarking for live performance, including robust watermarking of live audio streams and its integration with provenance and licensing frameworks. The research will contribute towards a technical framework and APIs that external companies can integrate with to prototype new services for rights-aware capture, distribution and reuse of live performance content.</p><p>You will join the Centre for Vision, Speech and Signal Processing (CVSSP) at the University of Surrey, a world-leading research centre in Computer Vision, AI and multimedia. Our team has a strong international track record in content provenance and authenticity research spanning computer vision, watermarking, machine learning, privacy-preserving technologies and open standards. We have contributed extensively to the development of the C2PA Content Credentials standard and worked closely with industry to translate provenance research into technologies used in real-world products and services.</p><p>The project is highly collaborative and interdisciplinary. You will work with researchers at Surrey and Royal Holloway, the wider CoSTAR National Lab community, and industry partners who will help integrate and evaluate technologies developed through the project. The role provides an opportunity both to publish fundamental research in leading international venues and to translate that research into demonstrators, APIs and prototype systems with external partners.</p><p>The position will be based at the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK. The post is available for an immediate start and is for a duration of 12 months.
