            <p id="isPasted">We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated people to join our busy post and portering team. As a member of this close-knit team, you will be responsible for portering tasks within the University. It&#39;s a busy and active role, with a lot of variety, across two busy campuses where you will be communicating with colleagues and students on a regular basis. During busy times, you can also further develop your skills by assisting the post team on our busy reception.&nbsp;</p><p>The job will include:</p><ul><li>Helping to move goods, equipment, and supplies throughout the university</li><li>Delivering items to different departments or locations as needed</li><li>Responding to requests for furniture or equipment relocation within the premises</li><li>Ensuring the safe handling and transport of waste including furniture, electrical items, food recycling and confidential waste</li><li>Receiving, sorting and delivery of incoming and outgoing mail and parcels</li><li>Driving University vehicles</li></ul><p>Work takes place in shifts between 07:00 and 17:00 Monday-Friday so you will need to be available and flexible to work within these times. A rota is released a week in advance to let you know when you will be working.&nbsp;</p><p>Additionally, there is an occasional requirement to work at the weekend, but this is limited to 5 weekends in total across the year.</p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>We are looking for candidates with:</p><ul><li>Physical fitness to handle lifting and moving of heavy objects or equipment</li><li>Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team</li><li>Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and responsibilities</li><li>Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic</li><li>Flexibility and adaptability to switch between roles as needed</li></ul><p>Previous experience in a portering role is advantageous but not mandatory, as we will provide you with full training. &nbsp;</p><p><em>Please note, a full UK driving licence is essential for this role.</em></p><p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you?&nbsp;</strong></p><p>We think Surrey is a great place to work.
