The primary focus of the role is on student-facing activities that enable extensive student engagement across the Student Life Directorate.</p><p>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</p><ol start="1" type="1"><li>Assist in the planning and coordinating of a diverse range of events and activities that promote cultural awareness, personal growth, and community engagement.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist with the development and growth of diverse student communities from confirmation through to graduation, supporting students to find their community(s) and foster a sense of belonging for all, whether that is through cultural, academic, social or interest-based groups.</li><li>Effective management of a diverse range of communal living cases. Ensuring that student case management is effective in supporting student progress, throughout the student journey.&nbsp;</li><li>Contribute to the development of excellent strategic and operational policies and procedures, which assure outstanding student support, through comprehensive, co-ordinated, and exemplary customer-focused services.</li><li>Provide other general assistance to the staff of the Events and Communities team in support of their activities as required.</li></ol><h3>About you</h3><p id="isPasted">We&#39;re looking for someone with:</p><ul type="disc"><li>Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build empathetic, supportive relationships.</li><li>Experience working with students in a case management or advisory role.</li><li>A commitment to community development.</li><li>Excellent organisational and communication skills.</li></ul><p>Please note that a DBS check will be undertaken as part of our pre-employment checks for the successful candidate.</p><h3>How to apply</h3><p id="isPasted">To apply for this role, please upload a CV and cover letter with your application on the University of Surrey Website.&nbsp;</p><p>For an informal discussion regarding this opportunity please contact Charlotte Smyth (Student Events and Communities Manager) via email charlotte.smyth@surrey.ac.uk</p>
