Alongside teaching and supporting pre-registration nursing students, the successful candidate will undertake the role of Lead for Practice Placement Learning providing strategic and operational leadership for clinical placements across a diverse range of healthcare settings.</p><p>The post holder will work collaboratively with NHS, social care, community, and independent sector partners to develop, enhance, and quality assure practice learning environments. They will lead initiatives to expand placement capacity, support Practice Supervisors, Practice Assessors and Academic Assessors, and ensure that student learning experiences meet professional, regulatory and university standards.</p><p>The role requires a registered healthcare professional (NMC) with experience of supporting learners in practice settings, strong partnership-working skills, and a commitment to delivering excellent student experiences. The post-holder is expected to collaborate with other team members, such as the Research Fellow who focuses on building machine learning models for perceptual quality prediction. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h3>About you</h3><p id="isPasted">The post-holder is expected to have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in electronic engineering, computer science, psychology of hearing, or a related field. Preference will be given to those who have experience on listening test, data curation, audio perception, psychoacoustics, but candidates who have experience in spatial audio and music audio are welcome to apply.             <p id="isPasted">We are seeking a motivated and well-organised part-time (0.3 FTE) Research Assistant to support data collection and study coordination for research exploring links between nutrition, the gut microbiome, sleep, cognition and mental health.</p><p>The post will support Professor Kathrin Cohen Kadosh&rsquo;s research within the School of Psychology, including Surrey&rsquo;s contribution to the Horizon Europe NUTRIMIND project. The Research Assistant will help oversee data collection and data-flow activities, including participant recruitment and follow-up, questionnaire tracking, sleep-watch data, supplement adherence, stool-sample collection, study logs, data checks and ethics/GDPR documentation.</p><p>The post will also support ongoing work on prebiotic supplementation and perimenopausal symptoms, where participants complete online questionnaires, wear sleep-tracking devices, take a dietary supplement and provide a stool sample.</p><p>This is a part-time role, and some tasks can be carried out flexibly/remotely. However, the postholder will be expected to be an active member of the lab, attend relevant lab meetings, contribute to the day-to-day running of the research, and help with general lab tasks as needed.</p><p>This role would suit an early-career researcher who is organised, careful, reliable and interested in gaining practical experience in human research, nutrition, mental health and gut&ndash;brain science.             <p id="isPasted">We are seeking an experienced and intellectually ambitious Research Fellow / Postdoctoral Researcher to join the Social Brain and Development Lab in the School of Psychology at the University of Surrey.</p><p>This is an 18-month fixed-term post supporting Professor Kathrin Cohen Kadosh&rsquo;s research on nutrition, the gut microbiome, cognition, development and mental health. The postholder will contribute to Surrey&rsquo;s role in the Horizon Europe NUTRIMIND project, which investigates how diet, biological markers, the gut microbiome and mental health interact across the lifespan.</p><p>The role will focus on the intellectual integration of Surrey&rsquo;s contribution to NUTRIMIND and related gut&ndash;brain research. This includes bringing together evidence and data across mental-health outcomes, dietary exposure, sleep, cognition, biological markers, microbiome-related measures and developmental context.</p><p>The postholder will work closely with Professor Cohen Kadosh, members of the Social Brain and Development Lab, junior research staff, and consortium partners across Europe.</p><p>The role will involve:</p><ul><li>contributing to the intellectual development of Surrey&rsquo;s work on nutrition, mental health, cognition, development and gut&ndash;brain mechanisms;</li><li>supporting conceptual integration across dietary exposure, mental-health outcomes, sleep, cognition, biological markers and microbiome-related measures;</li><li>helping develop harmonisation approaches for mental-health, behavioural and developmental outcomes across studies;</li><li>contributing to analysis planning and interpretation of findings;</li><li>drafting and coordinating sections of project deliverables, manuscripts, conference abstracts and reports;</li><li>working with consortium partners to align Surrey&rsquo;s contribution with wider NUTRIMIND work packages;</li><li>supporting and supervising junior research staff, including a part-time Research Assistant;</li><li>contributing to the wider research culture and day-to-day activities of the Social Brain and Development Lab;</li><li>helping ensure research outputs are scientifically rigorous, well documented and delivered on time.</li></ul><p>This role would suit a postdoctoral researcher who can see the bigger picture, work across disciplines, and turn complex evidence into clear scientific arguments.
