You will be working alongside world leading scientists and engineers in multinational teams.</p><p>You will provide high quality technical support and maintain high standards in H&amp;S across a range of laboratories, in particular within the Cleanroom in the Advanced Technology Institute (ATI). Specific responsibilities include maintaining and operating complex equipment and services used in the fabrication and testing of electronic devices, as well as implementing, maintaining and monitoring health and safety regulations, record keeping, PAT testing, waste disposal, and maintaining levels of chemical stock and consumables associated to these laboratories. Experience with CoSHH requirements is advantageous.</p><h3>About you</h3><p>You should have good communication and IT skills, and an aptitude for technology working alongside users of the facilities. Experience in some of the following is advantageous: vacuum systems, semiconductors and cleanroom skills. You will be required to work with users working on a wide range of devices for different applications. The focus will be to organise and perform listening tests to evaluate the perceptual quality of spatialised music audio, record the listening scores from each subject, perform statistical analysis of the listening test data, and organise the data files. The post-holder is expected to collaborate with other team members, such as the Research Fellow who focuses on building machine learning models for perceptual quality prediction. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><h3>About you</h3><p id="isPasted">The post-holder is expected to have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in electronic engineering, computer science, psychology of hearing, or a related field. Preference will be given to those who have experience on listening test, data curation, audio perception, psychoacoustics, but candidates who have experience in spatial audio and music audio are welcome to apply. The post-holder is expected to have skills in using software tools to manage and curate datasets with listening test scores. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>The post-holder will be based in CVSSP, and work under the direction of the Principal Investigator Prof Wenwu Wang, and in collaboration with the industrial partner.</p><p>CVSSP is an International Centre of Excellence for research in Audio-Visual Machine Perception and AI, with over 180 researchers. The Centre has state-of-the-art audio and video capture and analysis facilities supporting research in real-time video and audio processing and visualisation. CVSSP has a compute facility with 300 GPUs and &gt;2PB of high-speed secure storage. These include SignGPT, a five-year EPSRC Programme Grant with the University of Oxford (Prof Zisserman) and UCL (Profs Cormier and Woll) building tools to translate automatically between spoken language and photo-realistic sign language video in both directions; UMCS, a UK and Japan collaboration developing real-time sign language translation in everyday conversation; and a Google.org-funded project reducing the cost of sign language translation through AI.
