An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Histology Technician in the School of Veterinary Medicine, supporting our continually growing research community and diagnostic service.

The Role

Leading and working as part of the technical staff you will help in delivering a high standard of technical support for laboratory research and commercial services across the School of Veterinary Medicine. On a daily basis the Histology Technician will be responsible for printing cassettes and slides, ensuring an accurate paper trail and traceability, using the tissue processor, embedding tissue samples, sectioning daily diagnostic cases, and running routine and special stains daily.

About You

You will have experience of working within Laboratory regulations and in the processing of tissue samples, embedding, sectioning, and staining to diagnostic quality for use in Teaching and Research and Diagnostic Services. You will also have experience of supervising researchers and undergraduate students and resources. You will be competent and confident working within the relevant health and safety requirements of a Histology Facility.
