An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Estates & Facilities Department for a Contracts and Projects Officer in our Systems and Business Support team.

This role will be responsible for managing the Estates and Facilities’ projects portfolio, utilising PM3 Project Management Software to provide senior management with strategic oversight of construction projects, maintenance projects and system implementation projects.

The post holder will manage supplier relationships and contracts relating to the IT hardware and software in use across the department. They will provide administrative support for the Estates and Facilities project management office (PMO). They will also monitor resources and finances and manage the Risk Register on behalf of the Head of Systems and Business Support.

They will develop and maintain effective relationships through effective communication with project members and work with E&FM colleagues to update and maintain project templates to ensure they remain fit for purpose and are aligned with University project standards.

Providing training, support and advice to users of the department’s project processes, including the use of PM3 as the primary tool for project management is a key part of the role. You will plan, monitor and coordinate the activities and outputs of team members including producing and distributing regular management reports.

You will have:

  • The ability to use a range of IT resources to support delivery (MS Office or similar)
  • Proven ability to build positive working relationships with colleagues across other disciplines
  • Broad relevant experience of working in a PMO or similar environment is desirable
