Situated within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, the Nutritional Sciences Department at Surrey is one of the UK's foremost academic nutritional sciences centres, with a multidisciplinary group of 25 academic staff. Dietetics at Surrey is world-renowned and continues to be ranked highly in national tables with 100% student satisfaction in the 2019 National Student Survey.

We are actively seeking a HCPC Registered Dietitian for a 0.8FTE post as a Clinical Placement Facilitator to be responsible for NHS placements within the Dietetic programme, meeting HCPC and BDA requirements. Working with a peer, the role involves supporting lead trainers and their training teams, delivering supervisory skills training throughout the South East region, and the development of teaching/education resources to further excellence in our clinical placements. Securing sufficient placements for our students will also be a key role and exploring innovative ways of delivering the best student experience while supporting our Placement providers. Other aspects include the preparation of students for placements and providing continued support during and after placements for students & placement providers. The successful applicant will be expected to have at least 5 years of dietetic experience including leadership roles within the clinical training of student dietitians. An enthusiasm for teaching is essential, and experience of teaching in higher education would be an advantage. You will work closely with a 0.2WTE placement facilitator, the Placement Quality Officer (0.4WTE), the contracts manager and the Clinical Placement Administrative Team. A teaching qualification is required but this can be obtained once you are in post. Travel throughout the south east region to visit clinical placements is an integral part of the role so car driver and owner are essential. Some home working will be considered.
