This interesting and varied role of Legal Contracts Officer will be based in the Research Contracts Management team. The Research Contracts Management Team is responsible for efficient drafting and negotiation of a wide range of agreements relating to research undertaken by the University, in collaboration with industry, commerce, other Higher Education Institutions and funding bodies in the UK and Europe.

 You must be well organised and able both to prioritise and work to deadlines. You must also be able to work well independently and have a positive, can-do approach. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills with an aptitude for developing positive working relationships. In particular you will have the ability to communicate contract issues clearly and concisely to a wide range of people, including the highest levels of academic, corporate and government representatives. Diplomacy, tact, attention to detail and a calm approach are essential. You will be proficient in using Microsoft IT packages and educated to degree level or equivalent.
