We are excited to invite applications for a Research Fellow position funded by the EU, as part of a new European Framework integrating veterinary, medical and environmental health research (One Health EJP). The position will be based in the Department of Pathology and Infectious Diseases at the University of Surrey, within the School of Veterinary Medicine in Guildford, Surrey. You will be part of, and will undertake research in, a vibrant inter-disciplinary research environment with a strong international reputation and part of a wider network of over 35 partners across Europe

The ideal candidate will have strong interests in research mitigating the threats posed by zoonotic pathogens; including, but not limited to the role of the microbiome, antimicrobial resistance, and risk posed by emerging zoonotic diseases. The main focus of the project will be investigating the role of the microbiome and the emergence of zoonotic pathogens in livestock.

Experience of working with foodborne pathogens, molecular biology,sequencing and bioinformatics would be desirable. Previous experience of project management is also advantageous.
