The University of Surrey is a global university with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, its heritage shows a recurring theme of going its own way, doing things differently – and achieving notable results.

Applications are invited for a Senior Lecturer in Comparative Politics in the Department of Politics within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. The appointee will join a vigorous and lively department in an internationally recognised University with established strengths in the social sciences and humanities.

Applicants will hold a doctoral degree in Politics, International Relations or a cognate area, and have an established high-quality, REF-able publications profile. The specialism in comparative politics is broadly defined, including but not limited to regions, states, institutions, policies, behaviour, themes, etc.

The successful candidate will contribute to the teaching of existing UG and PG modules in political science and international relations and supervision, provide a sustained contribution to the Department’s outstanding research environment ahead of, and beyond the REF, and make an active contribution to the Department’s inhouse research centres and clusters.

The post will commence in September 2020.
