An opportunity has arisen for a full-time appointment in the Widening Participation and Outreach Team (WP & OR), which is fixed term until July 2021. 

The post holder will be responsible for managing the evaluation of the Higher Education Outreach Network (HEON), which is a partnership of local organisations including universities and colleges working in Surrey and North East Hampshire. Through a programme of targeted outreach HEON aims to increase the rates of young people from local areas accessing higher education. HEON is funded through the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP), which is a strategic initiative of the Office for Students (OfS). 

The post holder will lead on HEON’s data collection and evaluation strategy, ensuring that evaluation and monitoring is robust and appropriate, meets the requirements outlined by the OfS, and supports HEON in meeting its KPI’s. They will be responsible for collating and communicating impact data related to HEON’s work, including supporting NCOP returns to the OfS, reporting to the operational and steering group, and communicating impact to other key stakeholders.  The role requires experience of using both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including questionnaire design and analysing data to produce reports.  Knowledge of Widening Participation policy and practice is desirable.

With relevant professional knowledge and previous experience, the successful candidate will have excellent organisational and analytical skills, and will be able to demonstrate a strong ability to communicate with, and obtain buy in from, a variety of different audiences.
