We have an exciting opening for two Associate Tutors (clinical) to join the Clinical Psychology Doctoral Team under the leadership of Mary John. The current team are a welcoming, innovative and cohesive group with a wide variety of special interests and expertise in training. The PsychD Programme in Clinical Psychology is based in the School of Psychology of the University of Surrey which has an outstanding reputation for applied psychology professional training and research.

Applications are welcome from clinical psychologists who have been qualified for a minimum of three years with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and with experience of working within NHS Trusts and of supervising trainee clinical psychologists. The post will suit someone who has developed their clinical and multidisciplinary team skills following qualification and now wants to facilitate others to become clinical psychologists.

This would be an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development. The role includes taking on clinical tutor responsibilities for a small group of trainees, monitoring their progress through training by visiting them regularly on their placements and meeting them at the University of Surrey for reviews. Because training is provided, 83.5 hours are needed for the role in the first academic year. In subsequent years the role requires 74.5 hours per year. An initial arrangement will be for a one-year period but it is anticipated that successful applicants will be available for three years to follow a cohort of trainees. A flexible approach to working will be possible as this appointment is on the basis of an associate tutor status.
