We are recruiting an Enterprise Applications Manager to support the Head of Application Development deliver exceptional IT application services to support the needs of our business administration services and operations.   

Your contribution will enhance the student experience and ensuring the positive reputation of the University. 

You will be:

  • Responsible for the delivery, support and roadmap for a portfolio of IT applications.
  • Ensuring the highest levels of customer and technical support, with minimal disruption to service. 
  • Identifying, developing and implementing service improvement plans, policies and procedures for application delivery and support. 
  • Managing a portfolio of service improvement, upgrade and development projects, ensuring projects are planned around the academic calendar and delivered on time and within budget.
  • In conjunction with the Head of Application Development, deliver and refine the Enterprise Applications operating model. 
  • Building and managing a team of application analysts and administrators to support the application portfolio. 
  • Financial management of the application maintenance budget in the region of £1.5 per annum. 
  • Managing suppliers, contracts and external consultants including procurement and tendering processes.
  • Ensuring compliance with the project review process, so that requests do not by-pass this and are therefore properly assessed before approval.

You will have:

  • Extensive vocational and strategic management and leadership experience
  • Experience supporting and developing across a broad range of technologies and applications ideally within the Higher Education or Public Sector environments.    
  • Excellent knowledge of the software development life cycle and Agile methodologies.
  • Experience of project and budget management within an IT / technology environment.
  • Experience of leading an application support team.
  • Availability to work occasional out of hours to support the integration aspects of wider activities of the University.
