The University of Surrey is one of the UK’s leading public research universities. Join 2,500 staff and 17,000 students in an inspiring, innovative and diverse environment to make a positive impact through free-thinking and hard work.

Our Research and Innovation department provides a ‘one-stop-shop’ of research support services. They develop and manage the University’s research and consultancy activity, ensure compliance with legislation and external regulation, as well as all research policies and good research governance and provide programme and project management support.

As part of our refreshed strategy, we are focusing on research intensity and have created this role to manage the transformation programme and take us on our ambitious journey. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of workstreams that cover organisational design, process review and technology implementation on an ambitious scale. We want to ensure our researchers’ experiences are at the centre of everything we do. Over the next two and a half years we will embark on a series of projects that deliver benefit and add value, on time and to budget. You will be instrumental in leading and shaping the approach of the programme portfolio to achieve the desired outcomes, through to delivery of service to the end user.

We are looking for a change manager, someone who understands the formality of setting up, running and delivering organisation, process and technology transformation programmes according to recognised professional programme management standards. You will demonstrate the ability to converse with a wide range of senior stakeholders, including reporting programme status and ensuring the programme is on track with the strategic programme portfolio. You will work with integrity and have an appreciation of the work of our researchers and might have experience of engaging with research in industry, along with the ability to deal with a scale which incorporates change to 1000+ people, 20+ different business processes and £1m+ technology digitisation.

In return we offer a generous pension, relocation assistance, flexible working options including job share and blended home/campus working locations (dependent on work duties), access to world-class leisure facilities on campus, a range of travel schemes and supportive family friendly benefits including an excellent on-site nursery.

The University of Surrey is committed to providing an inclusive environment that offers equal opportunities for all. We value everyone in our community and are seeking to increase the diversity. Therefore, we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups, such as people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups and people with disabilities.

Please apply by uploading a covering letter (no more than 2 pages, explaining your motivation and how you meet the criteria) and full CV.
