We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic individual to join the farm animal pathology and disease surveillance team, based in our state-of-the art Veterinary Pathology Centre in Guildford.

The University of Surrey is an international University with a world-class research profile and an enterprising spirit. Inventive and forward-thinking, our heritage shows a recurring theme of doing things differently – and achieving notable results.

You will be an MRCVS (or registrable (see below for qualifying criteria)), ideally with experience in farm animal practice and performing post-mortem examinations in a range of livestock species (including ruminants, pigs, poultry/gamebirds and camelids); however applications from farm animal veterinary practitioners wishing to gain more experience in gross pathology or, from second or third year anatomical pathology residents that need farm animal pathology experience will be considered.  You will have excellent communication skills and be able to work well in a team. An interest in undergraduate teaching is also desirable. This full-time position will primarily involve providing an exceptional diagnostic pathology service to farm animal practices in the south-east of England, thus, contributinghigh quality disease surveillance data for the APHA. You will be supported by a team of board-certified (ACVP, ECVCP & FRCPath) anatomical and clinical veterinary pathologists, and skilled technical staff.

The University of Surrey offers excellent multidisciplinary facilities including an £11 million purpose built, high containment Veterinary Pathology Centre. You will also have the opportunity to work alongside experts from world class veterinary institutes and practices through our many collaborative partnerships. You will use your skills to support and enhance disease surveillance activities within the new School of Veterinary Medicine.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to gain high quality experience in the area of farm animal pathology and disease surveillance in the United Kingdom.
