Team Surrey has an incredible range of 45 different sports clubs, in which the Sport Participation Officer will drive sporting participation through a number of initiatives from pay as you go sport sessions, beginners' courses, and intermural leagues.

Role & Responsibilities:

We provide strategic added value to the University by delivering an outstanding student experience through social and competitive sport and providing an excellent environment for wellness and fitness for Surrey staff and students, and our community impact is significant both culturally and physically.

You’ll be responsible for the delivery of a high quality and innovative portfolio of sport & physical activity programmes, leading a small team with a key focus on driving sport participation for the students and staff at the University of Surrey.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Support a number of events throughout the year, including Active Refreshers, the Colour Run and Team Surrey Conference.
  • Deliver Student Activator Training and Manage the SurreyMoves+ Platform – a physical activity and behaviour change App.
  • Work proactively towards agreed objective and budget KPIs, reporting to the student Sport & Performance Manager.
  • Recognise and resolve day-to-day issues, acting as an escalation point for Students and staff where questions or issues arise.
  • Maintain an active and positive relationship with the Student Union, University Departments and BUCS, working together to engage with as many students & staff across the University as possible.
