We have an exciting opportunity as maternity cover for a manager in the administration team within the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
We are seeking a candidate who is excited to take on the role, adept at building relationships with people, and is passionate about being part of a collaborative working community.
The role
You will be working closely with the Head of School and a member of the senior administration team within the School, playing a vital role in contributing to the delivery of the School objectives in particular by supporting and advising the Head of School and working with the team of professional services staff across the School and Faculty.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the School delivers an excellent service for its staff and students by ensuring that communication is clear, providing evidenced based reports to support the monitoring whether the School is meeting its objectives and leading on key projects, such as EDI initiatives. Through the role you will gain an insight into both the teaching and research aspects of the School.
This role will be part of the overall administrative support within the School which will also include a Senior School Administrator, technical services and support colleagues.
About you
The person will be required to lead and to encourage a team-based approach. You will be expected to operate with a high degree of initiative and autonomy and have excellent communication skills. The person will need to think laterally and creatively to deliver against targets and have the intellectual capacity and strength of character to take and implement decisions.
We are open to considerations of flexible working and hybrid working, with the ability to work in the office and from home, in line with the business needs.
