Senior Recreation Assistant

Surrey Sports Park is one of the UK’s leading sports and physical activity venues. We’re looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Recreation Assistant to join our dynamic team.


In this vital role, you'll be responsible for supervising a team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of the centre. This includes delivering outstanding guest service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety, and ensuring that all activities and areas are prepared and managed to a professional standard.


Key responsibilities:

Supervise and support the Recreation Assistant team

Oversee the setup, maintenance, and dismantling of sports equipment

Provide poolside supervision, including water-based rescues

Ensure all activities run safely, efficiently, and on schedule

Uphold and promote high standards of health and safety

Deliver excellent customer service and respond to enquiries professionally

Produce KPI reports for various objectives


What we’re looking for:

Strong leadership and communication skills

Excellent customer service focus

Good understanding of health and safety in a leisure environment

Ability to manage and prioritise daily operational and admin tasks

Valid First Aid at Work Certificate and a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)

(Training and funding will be provided for the right candidate)


Additional information:

You must be willing to work 40 hours per week (rota-based, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends)

Appointment is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
