The role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Operations to join our growing RII function and be a member of the RII Senior Leadership team. The Head of Operations will ensure that processes, systems, infrastructure are in place to support the research and innovation ambitions of the University and ensuring consistency and quality of service across RII.  In this role, you will be crucial in leading the operational teams, enabling them to provide excellent support to the academic community, including through systems, projects and contracts.  You will also work closely with the Faculty Research and Innovation Office (FRIO) Managers to ensure that processes and policies are fit for purpose and applied consistently.  The successful candidate will be confident in leading on process improvements and embracing change. This is a permanent contract.

About you

You are an experienced Research Support Manager or equivalent with a proven track record in delivering services, operations and leading on change. You possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire colleagues. You are adept at process improvement and can manage multiple projects simultaneously and have a strong understanding of research in the higher education setting. Experience in research systems or contracts is a plus. You are proactive, resourceful, and thrive in a friendly and ambitious environment.
