Surrey Business School is progressive, transformative and responsible.  We are a double accredited (AACSB and AMBA) business school heading into a new phase of our development. We have a good track record in business engagement and commercialisation of its research, teaching and expertise. With a new Director of Enterprise, Business Transformation and Commercialisation taking up their post, we are looking for a business development professional to take us from good to great.

The Role

We’re looking for an experienced and confident Business Development Officer to strengthen our connectivity with business and the public sector and grow revenue from our commercial work.

Over the last year we have grown our income from executive education by more than 70% and you will have a crucial role in building on this success.

About You

Supporting the development of our business development strategy and taking a lead on its delivery you will be;

  • An excellent communicator confident to approach and present to potential new clients and comfortable working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to spot new opportunities and support colleagues to develop executive education programmes and other offerings to meet clients’ needs and pockets.
  • Experienced in delivering events and happy to get stuck into supporting the delivery of our executive education programmes and other activities with business and with staff and students.
  • A supportive line manager committed to developing colleagues to achieve their best.
  • Capable of managing budgets and monitoring spending to ensure maximum value.
