The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research.
We are ambitious and have a bold vision of what we want to achieve - shaping ourselves into one of the best universities in the world, which we are achieving through the talents and endeavour of every employee.
Our culture empowers people to achieve this aim and to collectively, and individually, make a real difference.
The role
Step into the heart of our kitchen and lead a dynamic team with energy, clarity, and hands-on support. As Bar shift leader, your number-one priority will be making sure that our customers leave happy and want to return! This is achieved by ensuring that they are receiving the best possible service, from you and the team. You’ll also have a big part to play in maintaining our high standards of CQSMA, by ensuring, at all times, that the pub is in tip-top condition.
You must ensure that the bar, front of house, toilets and other areas of the pub are cleaned and maintained in accordance with Company guidelines throughout the day, adopting the company’s clean as you go (CAYG) philosophy
Of course, there’s a great deal more that you’ll be expected to do, such as supervising and supporting the team, among many other things. Don’t worry, though, since we’re just as passionate about our people: as long as you have the drive and commitment, we will train you, on every aspect of the job, through Wetherspoon’s award-winning training programme.
Requirements
To succeed, you will need to be a customer-focused, driven, committed, passionate (like us!), professional team player.
