The role
We are seeking a candidate who is excited to take on a secondment opportunity within Academic Quality Services, which sits within the Directorate of Academic Performance, Quality and Governance. We are small team that are responsible for key processes of the programme life cycle. The team validate new programmes, process modifications to programmes, coordinate the external examiner process, monitor and track our Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies that recognise or accredit many of our programmes, and much more. In essence the team ensure that our programmes meet the required standards and quality, as well as drive enhancements to create the best experience for our students. We are open to considerations of flexible working, and the team supports hybrid working, with the ability to work in the office and from home, in line with business needs.
The role specifically will coordinate our external examining process, which will include assisting with the nomination process, liaising with academic teams on modules that require a new external examiner to be allocated, processing claim forms and annual reports and tracking progress and reporting of this process. The role also assists with a variety of other processes such as our modification process, the continuous enhancement review process, sources panel members for our validation and periodic enhancement events and assists with day to day coordination for our team. The role will update and monitor relevant process guides.
About you
This role requires excellent organisational skills and the ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide range of stakeholders. The role will require experience of coordinating different processes concurrently and have close attention to detail. The role requires working with spreadsheets and abstracting data. We are looking for a team player that is able to learn a range of new systems and be pro-active. We are seeking an enthusiastic person that ideally has experience working within higher education. The role is until the end of April 2026.
