A unique opportunity for an individual to join as a Senior Laboratory Technician in the Medical School at the University of Surrey. This role provides technical support to the teaching and research areas in the Anatomy facilities within the Faculty of Health & Medical Sciences.

About us

The School of Medicine in our Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences will be offering a 4-year, graduate-entry bachelor’s degree medical programme. The first cohort of students will start their studies in September 2024.

In this role, you’ll provide technical support to academic and research staff and undergraduate students during the teaching sessions & lab placements.

Role & Responsibilities

You’ll be working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, responsible for the dissecting room, and the associated facilities, so you’ll need to demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to be able to keep up with an ever-changing environment.

You’ll also need to be physically fit and able to assist with the preparation, delivery and clear up of anatomy teaching classes. You’ll need to have experience in HTA compliance, protocols and procedures and be willing to become a 'person designated' on the HTA Licence.

The role will require a significant amount of manual handling and an ability to adapt to changes in the workload at peak times. You must be able to work independently and have good time management skills.

You will also need to hold a current valid driving licence.
