In recent years, Surrey has established itself as a top-ten university in major national university league table rankings. We have also been named both 'University of the Year' and 'University of the Year for Student Experience' in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016. The University is proud of all that it has achieved in recent years and is keen to share its successes, discoveries and aspirations through a programme of high quality events for a range of important audiences.

An opportunity has arisen for a full-time appointment in the Recruitment & Admissions Directorate, working within the UK/EU Student Recruitment team.

We are looking for an experienced events professional to help the University meet its recruitment and admissions targets for UK/EU students by managing a number of recruitment events.

Reporting directly to the Head of UK/EU Student Recruitment, the post holder will be responsible for the delivery and organisation of key strategic events with a direct impact on applications and enrolments to the University, such as the Open Days, Applicant Days, Surrey UCAS Convention and the Annual Teachers’ Conference.

The post holder may also be required to lend support on central events such as Graduation. In addition, they will manage the Recruitment Assistant.

With strong experience of running successful events from concept to completion, the ideal candidate will preferably have an understanding of marketing principles, customer focus, and their application to the Higher Education sector. They will also understand the need to be flexible, with extensive weekend/evening work required and being prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that the desired results are achieved.

In accordance with the University’s brand position, the post-holder will be tasked with ensuring that all of our events “create wonder”, inspire minds and provoke curiosity – creativity and a keen eye for detail will therefore be important in ensuring success.

This is an exciting role that requires a high calibre individual to help take our events function to the next level. If you have the skills and experience that this role deserves, we would love to hear from you.
