The Centre for Wellbeing is looking to recruit a Volunteer Counsellor from a BAME background to support our students from diverse backgrounds with particular regard to race. This role would be suitable for a BAME counsellor in training or a BAME qualified counsellor seeking experience of working in a Higher Education setting and/or working towards accreditation.

Main purpose of the role: The counselling service at the Centre for Wellbeing has a well- established associate and placement counsellor scheme and is part of a vibrant team of counsellors, nurses and advisors promoting good emotional, psychological and physical health for staff and students and supporting retention, achievement and satisfaction.

The role will offer counsellors the opportunity to gain experience of counselling in a team within the Higher Education sector and to attend a substantial training programme relevant to counselling in the Higher Education Sector with certificate of attendance.

You will provide brief counselling for up to 5 clients a day, one day a week with particular support for our students from diverse backgrounds with particular regard to race. Individual supervision is provided on the Placement day.
