We are currently seeking a Senior Administrative Officer to join our Student Data team. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team working on data for both internal and statutory purposes. We welcome applications from someone with strong statistical and analytical skills, who has a keen eye for detail, who is confident working with data and has a determination to drive forward improvements in data quality across the institution. 

Reporting to the Student Data Manager, you will assist with statutory returns to HESA, and will have primary responsibility for the Unistats return. The team undertakes rigorous data quality testing, profiling, monitoring and cleansing across our student record system data to ensure high quality data that is fit for purpose for statutory returns, and internal and external reporting.

You will be expected to work proactively, and with the Student Data Manager, work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders across the University, explaining the requirements and implications of data errors in order to improve institutional understanding of our student data. As part of your role, you will compile regular and ad-hoc management information reports on request using various reporting software, e.g. PowerBI.

With qualifications and a number of years relevant experience, you will have highly developed statistical experience and excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues to a varied audience. You will engage with colleagues at all levels within the University, and also with external customers, e.g. Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Office for Students (OfS).
