12 Month Fixed Term Contract / Part Time (21.6 hours a week)

An opportunity has arisen for a general nurse to join the busy Centre for Wellbeing team at the University of Surrey on a 12-month fixed term contract.

We are looking for a dynamic and adaptable individual with significant experience in supporting people with a wide range of health conditions. The successful candidate will offer support and guidance to students on issues ranging from smoking cessation to managing chronic conditions to maintaining healthy eating habits.

Although not expected to hold qualifications in mental health, the post holder must be confident when working with students experiencing mental health difficulties and an interest in the mental health needs of the student population is advantageous.

Alongside providing advice, guidance and clinical liaison for students in need of additional wellbeing support, the post-holder will be expected to play a role in the development of health promotion activities across the University.

This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join a highly successful and innovative service, and make a significant difference to the lives of those working and studying at the University. You will be joining a team of enthusiastic and committed practitioners (including an occupational therapist, a social worker, counsellors and administrative staff) and working within a service that is continually striving to offer an excellent level of support to those in need.

In addition to salary you will receive a generous annual leave entitlement and excellent development opportunities. Benefits package includes pension scheme and discounted membership to our world-renowned Surrey Sports Park.
