The Department of Mathematics is seeking to recruit a part-time Associate Tutor to teach Operations Research and/or Numerical Partial Differential Equations at the undergraduate level, to start on February 10th 2020. Extensive course material is available for both courses. Teaching required for each course is as follows:

  • 3 hours of lectures per week, over 12 weeks
  • 2 hours of student support (office hours) per week, over 11 weeks.
  • General support for students (e.g. replying to emails) until August 31, 2020.
  • Setting and marking assessments (class test, final examination, and resit assessments)

The successful candidate will join a vibrant and supportive Mathematics department with a consistently high level of student satisfaction. Applicants should hold a PhD degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related discipline, and have some teaching experience at FHEQ level 4-6. Having experience teaching Operations Research, Numerical Analysis or Differential Equations, or experience of research in one of these areas, would be an advantage.
