The University of Surrey is seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our Doctoral College team as a Doctoral College Administrator. The postholder will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional administrative support to the Doctoral College, ensuring the smooth running of its operations, and contributing to the positive experience of our postgraduate researchers (PGRs).

The successful candidate will support across a number of areas including:

  • Analysing key performance indicator data, preparing and maintaining official documents, supporting events, and providing secretarial support to working groups and senior committees
  • Developing the website, intranet site, and virtual learning environment and keeping these up-to-date
  • Processing financial transactions for the Doctoral College
  • Supporting our PGRs by handling incoming inquiries and leading inductions for new students
  • Supporting the enhancement of our research culture by establishing and operating a system to advertise research seminars and training opportunities

About you

We’re looking for an experienced administrator, with proven experience in providing high-quality administrative support. Demonstrating excellent accuracy and attention to detail, you will have the ability to work independently in relation to less routine activities. You’ll have excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Office packages, and will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with staff and students from diverse backgrounds.

Experience within the Higher Education sector would be advantageous, particularly experience of the SITS system for student and programme administration. You may also have experience of web content management.
