Named The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2016 University of the Year, Surrey is a world-class, research-led University, committed to teaching and research excellence. We have an enterprising spirit, and prestigious business links that reflect our innovation and forward-thinking. Inventive and forward-thinking, our heritage shows a recurring theme of going its own way, doing things differently – and achieving notable results such as a new Veterinary School, Enginnering for Health and the 5G Innovation Centre.

With a new University strategy taking shape driven by our new Vice Chancellor, Max Lu, an opportunity has arisen to build upon these themes and be at the heart of the next stage in our journey as the Head of Strategic Projects and Change. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Planning you will play a key role in identifying, developing and programme managing the delivery of new strategic opportunities, such as our desire for a new Medical School or a Learning Hotel, which underpin achievement of the University's goals.

With responsibility for supporting and providing leadership for strategic client facing projects and major change initiatives you will able to work independently in establishing as well maintaining a portfolio of planned change for the Unvieristy managing multiple and conflicting priorites often across a number of departments and organisations.

Educated to degree level you will ideally have experience of managing and leading institutional projects across a number of workstreams that lead to substantial business change or transformation. You may not be from the Higher Education sector  but you will bring a mixture of consultancy and commercial skills and in particular the ability to be able to influence very senior internal and external stakeholders whilst at the same time being delivery focussed and "hands-on" if necessary.

In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a generous annual leave allowance, defined pension scheme, discounted membership to our Surrey Sports Park and the option to take up higher degree study, in addition to the opportunity to join one of the best Universities in the country.
