The Department of Politics is part of an international consortium undertaking a Horizon 2020 research project (“PROTECT”) focusing on the right to international protection, the global governance of refugee protection, and the public recognition of refugee rights. The project runs until January 2023.
The Department's team of researchers (Prof. Simon Usherwood, Dr. Theofanis Exadaktylos and Dr. Alia Middleton) will be working in particular on the attitudes of civil society groups to migrants, within the context of the Global Compacts, and on the experience of those in the camps in Greece. They also lead the work package on dissemination and engagement.
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow is expected to contribute to the project team’s research on civil society attitudes towards immigration, the lived experience of refugees and the development of effective dissemination activity as well as participating in research leadership and international project coordination tasks.
Please note, it is University Policy to offer a starting salary equivalent to Level 3.6 (£31,866) pro rated to 0.3 fte to successful applicants who have been awarded, but are yet to receive, their PhD certificate. Once the original PhD certificate has been submitted to the local HR Department, the salary will be increased to Level 4.1 (£32,817).
