An opportunity has arisen within the Sports Delivery Team for a proactive, self-motivated and highly organised individual to join our team.

The role of the Surrey Scorchers Basketball Development Officer is to develop and deliver a high quality and innovative Surrey Scorchers basketball participation programme at Surrey Sports Park and the surrounding region. The role is key in widening Surrey Scorchers reputation and the delivery of sports participation and programmes in education, leisure, and community settings. Working within the Sports Delivery Team, the role will have a key focus on developing and administrating innovative projects with long term sustainability.

Working towards a Surrey Sports Park  strategy, the role will lead the effective design and delivery of a diverse, exciting and innovative programme of basketball opportunities which support the strategic growth of basketball.  

As the ‘expert’ in basketball development, the post holder is expected to lead on the shape and direction of the basketball programme, to ensure that it supports the SSP strategy and achieves the key performance targets. 

The successful candidate will have excellent organising and prioritising skills and experience of working independently and dealing with unforeseen circumstances and problems.

This role requires work during unsocial hours, including early mornings, late evening and at weekends.
