The University of Surrey are seeking a dynamic and ambitious Blockchain and Metaverse Technologies leader, to act as Operations Manager within the newly-established Surrey Academy for Blockchain and Metaverse Applications. 

This role will serve to accommodate the need in educating blockchain & metaverse professionals and providing applied training courses. The Academy is to meet Industry needs by producing workplace-ready graduates.

The successful applicant will provide administrative support to Directors and engage with students and academics on campus to support blockchain-related entrepreneurship at the University. 

As well as strengthening existing collaborations and translating new relationships with the blockchain industry into partnerships to facilitate the activities of the Academy, the post holder will also take an active role in developing and maintaining relations with relevant industry partners.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Act as the key contact within the Academy for identifying, securing, and collaborating to grow new opportunities among students and academics.  
  • Support the Director of the Academy as they work to create good relationships with external stakeholders, academics, students, and business partners and maintaining relationships with existing industry partners. 
  • Develop and manage the organisation of events, workshops, seminars, pitching events and business plans competitions. 
  • Manage relations with existing partners and develop new relations. 
  • Support the Academy’s Director to organise the Advisory Board Meeting, develop key performance indicators and milestones as well as run processes to select projects and create, manage and report, progress reports. 
  • Manage the planning and delivery of all aspects of hosting events to the University of Surrey including the organising translation where required. 
  • Represent and promote the Academy externally through its website and social media channels. 
  • Ensure the Academy’s activities coordinate with Surrey Business School and the University’s activities.
