Our particular strengths are in digital innovation and technological transformation, international trade and investment, leadership and organizational psychology, sustainability and corporate governance

Surrey Business School is a mid-sized business school with over 110 academic staff members from around the globe, and a highly cohesive and collegial atmosphere. We are growing strongly, both in terms of our size, and in terms of the quality and impact of our work. Specifically, we put a heavy emphasis on research excellence. Our faculty regularly publish their research in top journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Human Resource Management, Human Resource Management Journal, Work, Employment and Society, Journal of Management Studies, Human Relations, and Journal of Occupational and Organizational Psychology.

We run a full range of programmes including undergraduate, postgraduate and MBA programmes, as well as a PhD programme. Our programmes are renowned for their quality in terms of intellectual rigor, student experience, and employability. As a School, we are becoming increasingly active in executive education (both open-enrolment and tailor-made programmes). Through our Business Insights Lab, we work closely with companies and other stakeholders. For further information about Surrey Business School, please visit our website:

The Department for People and Organisations at Surrey Business School is a leading centre for research in Work and Organizational Psychology, Human Resource Management (HRM) and Organizational Behaviour. Our faculty conduct world-leading research in our core areas of leadership and group processes, HRM and performance assessment, and quality of working life. We apply our research in our work with students and businesses to develop the next generation of evidence-based leaders and practitioners. The Department has grown strongly in recent years, and will continue to do so in future, with further appointments already in plan. We thus seek to appoint a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Human Resource Management to join our team. Candidates from adjacent subject areas such as sociology and psychology are welcome to apply.

We are looking for strongly research-active academics.  Senior Lecturers should show clear evidence of their capacity to publish research on human resource management in top-tier journals. Senior Lecturers are expected to have a track record of publications in these journals, and a full pipeline of papers going forward. In your teaching, you are expected to emphasise the quality of the student experience. We will ensure that your teaching load is such as to provide you with sufficient time for research. There will be ample opportunities for you to become active in business engagement and executive education.
