The University of Surrey’s Research and Innovation Pre-Award Team is seeking an enthusiastic Research Applications Officer to advise and support academics as they apply for grant funding. Working with a team of professionals, the successful candidate will have the independence to manage multiple projects to ensure financial and administrative requirements are completed on behalf of the University. 

The successful applicant should be self-motivating and have strong financial administrative and communication skills, as well as a keen eye for detail, an understanding of financial costing and due diligence with an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines. A commitment to customer satisfaction and a desire to maximize Research and Innovation Service’s potential is also particularly valued. Candidates will ideally have experience of working in or with higher education institutions. Familiarity with research and innovation funding and funding organizations is preferable.

Performing a critical role towards achieving University of Surrey’s strategic goals, the Research Application Officer will report directly to Research Applications Manager and will work closely with a Senior Research Applications Officer, Contracts and Finance teams, as well as Faculty Leadership and researchers.
