Surrey Business School (SBS) is seeking an exceptional Senior Teaching Fellow in Management Education to join our Centre for Management Learning (CML) and contribute to a broad spectrum of pedagogic innovations and programme developments which aim to make SBS an international leader in the pedagogy of management education. The successful candidate will contribute to staff development initiatives, the development of digital learning opportunities, CML’s Certificate in Management Education which supports practitioners as they transition into education and the development of the Surrey Innovation and Digital Enterprise Academic (SurreyIDEA).

CML, launched in February 2017, has a mission to provide a global platform for management educators to develop their own practice through CPD, research collaborations and events. CML offers a number of services including curriculum designs, teaching staff development and training practitioners as management educators. The CML community now consists of over 80 members from industry and academia with partners in Australia, the Middle East and Europe. The SurreyIDEA will be launched in Summer 2019 and will provide a space for innovative and transformative enterprise education through immersive and accelerated degree programmes, executive education and widening participation programmes in enterprise creation and the exploitation of intellectual property run as collaborations between students from different disciplines, academics and practitioners.

CML is looking for a member of staff who is passionate about management and enterprise education and, in particular, curriculum design. The individual will probably have a background in business & management and education. He/She understands pedagogy as an instrument to drive student engagement and learning and has developed and successfully implemented strategic educational structures. The individual also has a good understanding of blended learning design. 

The successful candidate will contribute

· To the development and design of a variety of CML and SurreyIDEA programmes

· To teaching on a variety of CML and SBS programmes

· To the creation of CML and SurreyIDEA resources through their own research and in collaboration with others

Essential and expected skills:

· Outstanding communication skills – oral and writing

· Outstanding understanding of educational/ pedagogic concepts

· Very good understanding of business school environment globall

·An established profile in management education

· Independent working style and initiative

· Good project management skills

· Cultural awareness

Qualifications & Affiliations:

Essential

– Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate degree.

Desirable

· Master in Education/ Higher Education/ Learning and Development/ Online Learning studies or PG Cert in Learning & Teaching

· PhD in a relevant discipline

· Coaching qualification

 

Experience of

· Teaching a range of traditional and non-traditional university students

· Working with business schools

· Working with industry

· Developing innovative curriculum and designing staff development programmes

· Mentoring (and coaching) of staff

CPD Opportunities

The successful candidate will get the opportunity to join the FEX PhD Programme and particularly conduct research in Management Education/ Learning. In addition, there is the opportunity to gain HEA Senior Fellowship through the internal SET Framework at Surrey.
