Within External Engagement, the Advancement team works with the academic community to engage alumni, friends, companies and trusts in support of the University. They are responsible for sustaining a lifelong relationship with our worldwide alumni community of over 127,000 graduates, raising funds and encouraging volunteering support the University’s corporate strategy. You will be joining a very successful team which has grown and continues to grow our international alumni network.

As Alumni Relations Manager you will drive forward our ongoing lifelong relationship with our global alumni and supporter community. You will lead our international volunteering programme and manage a programme of activities aimed at developing alumni and supporter engagement, with specific emphasis on volunteer engagement and international alumni participation and representation. There will also be a significant part to play in delivering the volunteer engagement target for our forthcoming Campaign, encompassing the recruitment, management and stewarding of alumni and supporter volunteers as well as working with the Alumni Engagement and Operations Manager to further integrate the University’s mentoring platform into academic schools.

Your application will demonstrate proven experience of working in a role with responsibility for relationship management and engaging a variety of audiences by building mutually beneficial relationships. We are also looking for experience in volunteer management, alumni engagement, philanthropy or membership programmes and excellent communication skills including public speaking, presenting and producing high-quality written communications.

International travel will be required as a core aspect of this role.
