The University of Surrey and Surrey County Council are seeking an enthusiastic Innovation Lead to identify the potential which could be unlocked through greater collaboration between the two organisations, alongside wider partners, to drive forward innovation and actions which deliver on the One Surrey Growth Board’s ‘Plan for Growth’. 

Partners across Surrey have joined together through the One Surrey Growth Board with a collective ambition to drive forward economic growth. The One Surrey Growth Board draws knowledge, expertise and on the ground experience from business leaders, anchor institutions, Further Education and Higher Education providers, and political leadership to provide insight on the economic challenges which face the County. The priorities of the One Surrey Growth Board are reflected in Surrey County Council’s own Economic Growth Strategy and helps inform the work programme for Surrey County Council’s Economy and Growth team. 

The post holder will be a highly motivated individual, able to identify synergies between the University of Surrey and Surrey County Council and transform ideas into

tangible projects and deliverables. The post holder will work across sectors of interest and be the bridge between the two organisations to pursue opportunities to align thinking, resource and capabilities. They will be able to work collaboratively to unlock barriers and build support around a series of interventions to promote growth, improve skills and deliver on the net zero carbon objectives.
