The University has launched a Foundation Year programme that will provide the best possible preparation for degree level study. The Foundation Year programme for Business and Economics will be delivered across a range of programmes within the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. These programmes offer a new and exciting route into studying for a degree, attracting ambitious and highly motivated students.

The students accepted to study on the Foundation Year programmes  are taught and assessed at sub-degree level (FHEQ level 3 i.e. equivalent to A-levels), and comprise modules teaching academic subjects and study skills, which, upon successful completion, provide a direct pathway to undergraduate degree level study.

The University of Surrey is seeking an exceptional individual to join the established Foundation Year team to deliver the programme and further enhance the programme. As these are new programmes to the University, the successful candidate should be able to engage with a wide audience to promote the Foundation Year programmes and be instrumental in fostering their success.

As a Teaching Fellow the successful candidate will be expected to design, develop and deliver curriculum, to contribute to the development of the learning and teaching of Business and Economics at FHEQ level 3 of the National Qualifications Framework. The successful candidate will be expected to teach the following subjects: Business, Maths and Economics. The successful candidate should possess a track record of excellent teaching at FHEQ Level 3, have a degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject and possess a teaching qualification

Teaching Fellows on the Foundation Year programme will liaise with those teaching on the core degree programmes and will work with staff in the Student Personal Learning and Study Hub in designing and developing the programme. The role has responsibility for providing academic advice and support to Foundation Year students preparing them for transition on to the core degree programmes.

The University of Surrey aims to be an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
