A great opportunity for an enthusiastic farm vet, looking for new challenges and to explore whether a career in veterinary education might be for them. We are seeking a production animal clinician who can use their experience, knowledge and skills to help inspire and train undergraduate students in all aspects of farm practice and herd health management. This part time position (0.2FTE) would be ideally suited to an individual who wanted to maintain an existing clinical role alongside.

Successful candidates will bring a strong understanding and experience of production animal practice, particularly ruminants, to complement existing staff in their ability to deliver high quality teaching and assessment across the veterinary programme. Their primary focus would be third- and fourth-year students: teaching the theory and training the practical skills essential for a production animal clinician from day one.

Enthusiasm, adaptability and creativity are essential, alongside excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills. Experience of teaching and mentoring, and a clinical interest in herd / flock health management would be an advantage.

Successful candidates will join the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences and our supportive, multidisciplinary teaching team, who are dedicated to inspiring and equipping the next generation of vets to engage with the challenges of the 21st Century.

The University offers an attractive salary package which includes support for CPD, a substantial holiday allowance, pension scheme and a 10% salary uplift for MRCVS-registered staff.
